Why People Reject the Truth? |

When Allah chooses then from the angels also, from the people also.
When Allah the Exalted makes a choice then He does not look at lineage, neither wealth, neither status. He chooses messengers from among the angels, and also from among humans. And then He Himself takes responsibility for their training and consolation also. He Himself also becomes their shield.
When Allah the Exalted chooses someone then He does not see the standards of the world. Whenever a messenger of truth came, the people's answer was always one:
(At-Taghabun: 6)
"Will a human like us guide us?"
In this there was denial along with arrogance. They would say: "If Allah had to reveal the Qur'an then why not reveal it on some rich chief of one of our two big cities?"
The Qur'an has recorded their very objection:
(Az-Zukhruf: 31)
"And they said: Why was this Qur'an not revealed on a great man from one of the two cities?"
In another place the Qur'an presents the sarcasm of Quraysh which they would say upon seeing the Prophet:
(Al-Furqan: 7)
"What is wrong with this messenger that he eats food and walks in the markets?"
That is, "he is just like us." This very arrogance led them to denial, turning away and pride.
When the Heart Was Tested, Consolation Also Came
There came a time when the chain of revelation was stopped for a while then the polytheists made noise: "Your Lord has abandoned you."
Then Allah consoled His beloved with Chapter Ad-Dhuha:
(Ad-Dhuha: 1-3)
"By the morning brightness. And by the night when it grows still. Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He disliked you."
And then the greatest promise:
(Ad-Dhuha: 4-5)
"And the hereafter is better for you than the first. And soon your Lord will give you, and you will be pleased."
There was also good news in this world:
(As-Saff: 13)
Help from Allah and a near victory.
The Things We Should Learn From This:
- The choice is Allah's. He does not look at wealth, lineage. He looks at sincerity of heart and safeguarding of trust.
- The world will mock. "What is he? What does he have?" But Allah's decision is final.
- The end of patience is contentment. Whoever trusts in Allah, Allah makes him content.
The Prophet was patient. Allah made the religion prevail, made Mecca conquered, and gave honor to the nation.
Even today when people consider us "small" for speaking truth, remember: The One who chooses is Allah. And the One who makes content is also Him.
May Allah grant us conviction and patience. Ameen.
